Copiers in Dirty Work Environments

Xerox-WorkCentre-4260-XFCleaning your copier is more important than you might believe.

Consider this scenario: We once saw a company that purchased an HP copier. However, the device died after six months because of how they took care of it. When you sink that much capital into an investment, you want it to last. With a laser-based copier, you use pressure and heat to fuse the toner to the pages. If you always have the system on, the parts will always be moving, which draws in heat and air and cools the copier. Combine that with a dirty work environment and the chances of failure compound.

Do you have a maintenance agreement? Even with an agreement, you should stay proactive with the care of your device. If you do not keep the office environment clean, it can void the maintenance agreement with some companies.

Whenever the copier is not being used for long periods of time, turn it off and place the copier cover over it from when you first purchased the machine. If you do not have a copier cover, you can ask us, and we can help you to get one. This will keep the dust from penetrating the internal components of your machine.
